How have changing perceptions of the relationship between humans and the divine鈥攆rom the polytheism of Ancient Greece and Rome to the monotheism of the Middle Ages and the increasing secularization seen in the Modern World (the Modern World includes the Industrial Age, Modernism and Post-Modernism)鈥?affected cultural production in the Ancient World, the Medieval World and the Modern World? How have changing perceptions of the relationship between humans and the divine鈥攆rom the polytheism of Ancient?
Well, in the ancient world, many works of art was dedicated to gods, goddeses and to dieties. There was a vast plethora of men and women who sought to appease these gods. During the middle ages, many people created works of art to jesus, though much art in the modern world is more about free expression. Gone are the days when only a famous artist with noteriety can create art. Today, anyone with a computer can create art, and that is the epitome of cultural achievment for mankind, in my opinion.
